Operations & Payroll Manager 


We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations & Payroll professional to join our growing office in Houston, TX. 

This will be an integral role as we continue to expand. 

The Role 

Manage and administer the contractor onboarding process and day to day contractor care function working closely with the UK finance and business services teams.

Include accurate contract generation 
Employee background checks
Employment eligibility and wage verification
Validating documents for payroll – W4, banking info etc
Maintain accurate employee files
Need a good knowledge of multi-state payroll and employment laws
Manage unemployment claims
Apply for state withholding/unemployment accounts where necessary
Administer the 401k program

Manage and administer the employee benefits program on a day to day basis and also the renewals and auto-enrolment process.

Insurance – office insurance and workers comp – work with colleagues and the broker to maintain the policies and manage the renewals process.

Assist the Group HR function where necessary.

Manage credit card expenditure and ensuring detailed records are maintained.

Assist with in-country credit control.

Ad hoc duties including staff cell phone management, office and kitchen supplies, co-ordinate travel arrangements etc


Knowledge/Skills 

  • Knowledge of Paycom – not essential but ideal
  • Multi-state payroll and employment laws/regulations
  • I-9 (Employment Verification) – knowledge and experience are absolutely essential in order to maintain accurate and compliant records. Including the knowledge on how to correct an incorrect I-9.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads/forward planning
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Don’t be afraid to bring ideas/knowledge to the table in order to maintain compliance with our business processes and policies.
  • Excellent communication skills – the role will involve communicating at all levels of Oscar and Client companies and contractors and across time zones.
