Chief Technology Officer (CTO) - Step-Up Opportunity
Location: London (Hybrid) | Salary: Up to £100,000 + benefits
About the Role
Our client, an established FCA-regulated business, is looking for an ambitious technology leader ready to take the next step into a CTO role. This is a great opportunity for a strong Head of Engineering, Lead Developer, or Engineering Manager who has the technical depth and leadership instincts to grow into a CTO position, with full support and mentorship along the way.
This isn't a role for someone who's "done it all before" - the client wants someone hungry to prove themselves at the top table, bringing modern technical thinking and real enthusiasm for AI to help shape the company's technology direction.
What You'll Be Doing
- Shaping and owning the technology strategy alongside the senior leadership team
- Leading and developing the engineering team, building a culture of delivery and innovation
- Driving adoption of AI-powered tools and capabilities across the product and engineering function
- Overseeing architecture, infrastructure, and delivery across the .NET/React/Azure stack
- Championing best practice in CI/CD and engineering standards
- Contributing to regulatory and compliance conversations, ensuring technology decisions align with FCA requirements
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, JavaScript, and React
- Solid understanding of Azure and CI/CD pipelines
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Genuine interest and practical experience applying AI within a business context
- Essential: experience working in an FCA-regulated environment
- Leadership or mentoring experience - you don't need to have been a CTO before, but you should be ready to lead
- Ambition and the confidence to grow into the role with backing from the business
