Substation Design Engineer

Job Title: Engineering Technician - Substation Design (Multiple Levels)
Location: Various U.S. Locations (Candidates must reside within commuting distance of a company office; hybrid options negotiable after conversion to direct hire)
Employment Type: 6-Month Temp-to-Perm

Role Overview:
We are seeking Engineering Technicians at multiple levels to join our Substation Design team. These roles involve using industry-standard design software to create electrical substation layouts, schematics, and construction documents. Candidates will support engineering teams in delivering high-quality designs for power infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop 3D substation and electrical power system designs using AutoCAD Substation Design Suite, Bentley MicroStation 3D, or other AutoCAD platforms.

• Prepare detailed drawings, schematics, and construction documents for substation projects.

• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure designs meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards.

• Review and revise design documents as required, incorporating feedback from engineers and project stakeholders.

• Support project workflows to meet deadlines and quality standards.

• Participate in team meetings and project planning sessions.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required.

• Senior Level: ~8-11+ years of general substation engineering/design experience, with at least 3-4 years using AutoCAD 3D Substation Design Suite or Bentley MicroStation 3D.

• Associate/Junior Level: ~2-3+ years of electrical engineering/design experience, with 1-2 years using AutoCAD or related platforms.

• Must have experience with electrical design; substation design experience strongly preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work on-site, full-time, at assigned office locations.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience level) with potential for temp-to-perm conversion.

• Standard W2 benefits including medical, dental, vision, short-term & long-term disability, life insurance, 401k. Option to adjust pay if not participating in benefits.

• Standard 40-hour work week (Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day); overtime paid at 1.5x.

• No relocation package provided; candidates must reside within commuting distance or relocate at their own expense.

• Hybrid work schedules may be available after direct-hire conversion.
