Oscar is working with a leading FinTech Saas organization that is looking for an experienced Staff Data Engineer to join their team.

As the Staff Data Engineer, You will own a critical portion of our Databricks platform, partnering closely with the Principal Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions. You'll drive technical decisions, mentor engineers, and serve as a key liaison between engineering and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines in Databricks.
  • Develop scalable data models and architecture to support multiple products and business needs.
  • Lead migration efforts from legacy systems to a unified Databricks Lakehouse platform.
  • Establish and promote engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, monitoring, and data quality standards.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into data solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance across the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience with end-to-end ownership of data solutions.
  • Strong skills in SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Workflows, Databricks SQL).
  • Experience building and operating large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong data modeling and architecture skills.
  • AWS experience (S3, IAM, VPC) and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with stakeholders.
  • U.S.-based with availability during U.S. business hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial data, ERP systems, or NetSuite.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML, RAG, or LLM-related data workloads.
  • Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and regulated environments.
  • Experience working with distributed or nearshore engineering teams.

Salary: 200k-230k base + Benefits
