Oscar is working with a leading investment firm that is looking for a Senior Investment Data Analyst to join their team.
As the Senior Investment Data Analyst, you will play a key role in advancing Venerable's investment data, reporting, and technology capabilities. This position blends investment domain expertise with strong analytical and technical skills to develop scalable data solutions that improve operational efficiency, reporting, governance, and decision-making.
This role supports the full investment data lifecycle, including security master and reference data, positions, transactions, valuations, risk analytics, and investment reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize investment data flows from internal and external sources, resolving data exceptions through root cause analysis and implementing long-term process improvements.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable investment data processes, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and downstream integrations that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Support the ongoing enhancement of investment data platforms by gathering business requirements, participating in testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), providing production support, and contributing to product roadmaps.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that support investment oversight, financial analysis, risk management, and strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, strengthen controls, improve data quality, and increase scalability through technology and process optimization.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for investment data, systems, and operational workflows, providing guidance to business partners and project teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Investment Management, Risk, Operations, Accounting, Treasury, Financial Risk Management, Audit, Hedging, Valuation, Technology, and external vendors to support strategic investment data initiatives.
- Promote strong data governance practices by maintaining business glossaries, metadata, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and process documentation to improve transparency, consistency, and data integrity.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Five or more years of experience in financial services with direct responsibility for investment data management, investment operations, or investment technology solutions.
- Strong experience designing and improving business processes that increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen operational controls.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience querying large datasets and working with relational databases.
- Experience supporting software development or product management activities, including requirements gathering, testing, and UAT.
- Experience with investment data processing, including data ingestion, reconciliation, reporting, and downstream integrations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis techniques.
- Working knowledge of investment products and financial markets, particularly fixed income securities and risk analytics.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
