We're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who will take ownership from design review through commissioning and then transition into a key plant engineering role supporting long‑term reliability and performance. What you'll do
- Provide end‑to‑end electrical engineering oversight during construction and commissioning reviewing designs, specifications, installation plans, and delivery schedules to keep the project aligned with safety, quality, and timeline goals.
- Monitor equipment deliveries and flag risks so the master schedule stays on track.
- Contribute to project schedules and reporting, participating in meetings and providing inputs that support budget and timeline tracking.
- Lead/Support testing, inspections, start‑up, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure reliable operations on day one.
- Serve as a key liaison with OEMs, EPC partners, owner's engineers, and internal leadership throughout project execution.
- Drive NERC/SERC compliance: technical evaluations, procedure development, evidence generation, and oversight of required work.
- Post‑commissioning, transition into plant electrical engineer responsibilities: outage planning, control system selection, inspections, plant modifications, performance analysis, and ongoing support for plant leadership.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology (BSEE preferred).
- Experience:
- 10+ years of engineering experience.
- 5+ years in an operating natural‑gas combined‑cycle power plant, including planning, budgeting, preventive/predictive maintenance, and maintenance analysis.
- Technical & Business Knowledge: Natural‑gas combined‑cycle operations, performance, and economics.
- Skills: Project‑management software proficiency; strong organization and time management; ability to work autonomously; solid interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; strong technical and business analytics; overall computer proficiency; and the ability to work directly with plant management and senior staff.
- Licenses: Valid driver's license meeting company insurance qualifications.
- Travel: ~10%.
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Level II Thermographer and/or Level II Vibration Analyst certification.
