A leading industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Design Engineer to support front-end engineering, detailed design, and project execution for facility upgrades and improvements.
This role will focus heavily on developing engineering packages, specifications, and design documentation for electrical and instrumentation systems within a complex petrochemical environment.
Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, and FEED packages for electrical and instrumentation projects
Design and produce engineering deliverables including:
One-line diagrams
Loop sheets
Logic diagrams
Wiring and power schematics
Equipment and instrumentation specifications
Support capital and non-capital projects from concept through execution
Review and approve E&I design packages to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
Interface with internal engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to define project requirements
Support Management of Change (MOC) processes for design modifications
Participate in hazard reviews and Process Safety Management (PSM) related design activities
Ensure designs align with reliability, maintainability, and safety objectives
Provide technical input during installation, commissioning, and startup phases
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
2+ years of experience in electrical and/or instrumentation design (all levels considered)
Experience developing engineering packages in petrochemical, chemical, or refining environments preferred
Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and process control design
Familiarity with DCS, SIS, PLCs, and analyzer systems
Experience with FEED development, specifications, and cost estimating
Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and design skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Comfortable working in an industrial plant environment as needed for field verification
Willingness to support project schedules, including extended hours when required
Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
Strong focus on engineering design and project development
