Site Superintendent BESS

Overview

We are urgently seeking an experienced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Site Superintendent to support multiple active and upcoming utility-scale projects across the U.S.

This is a high-priority, immediate hire for a hands-on field leader with proven self-perform experience in battery storage construction. Candidates must be comfortable leading crews on-site and driving execution in fast-paced project environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site operations for utility-scale BESS construction projects

• Directly manage self-perform field crews, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality

• Coordinate with project management, engineering, subcontractors, and clients

• Drive project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved

• Oversee installation of battery systems, inverters, racking, and electrical infrastructure

• Maintain strict safety compliance and lead site safety initiatives

• Run site meetings, reporting, and progress tracking

• Identify and resolve field issues to prevent delays

Required Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of construction experience, with a strong focus on energy infrastructure

• Proven experience as a Site Superintendent on BESS projects

• MUST have self-perform experience (hands-on management of internal crews, not just subcontractors)

• Background in utility-scale projects (BESS, solar + storage, substation, or T&D)

• Strong understanding of electrical scope, installation sequencing, and commissioning coordination

• Ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

• Willingness to travel nationwide and work on-site

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with self-performing EPC contractors

• Substation or high-voltage (T&D) experience

• OSHA 10/30 or higher certifications

• Strong leadership and communication skills
