Fullstack Engineer / Typescript Backend

Title: Full Stack Software Engineer / TypeScript Backend
Location: San Francisco, CA
Salary: $220K-$290K + Equity

A rapidly growing SaaS AI startup in San Francisco is hiring a Full Stack Engineer using Typescript to help build and scale a customer-facing platform that transforms complex enterprise data into actionable software. This role is looking for an engineer who can think beyond implementation and who is product-focused and able to work 80% backend and 20% frontend for development. This is a startup environment where engineers take ownership, work closely with leadership and customers, and play a direct role in shaping the product.

This role is primarily backend-focused using Typescript, with some frontend work, and centers on building systems that handle can handle and understand large-scale, real-time data. You will develop and improve core product features, working across TypeScript, React, AWS/GCP, PostgreSQL, and any Python, Rust, Terraform is a plus. As an AI-first platform, experience with GenAI, LLMs, or agent based systems is a huge plus. This is a product-driven role, ideal for someone who is comfortable working with complex data, who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and who can bridge the gap between technical systems and end-user value.

Experience:

* 3+ years of experience in full stack or product-focused software engineering
* Strong TypeScript experience building backend services (e.g. NestJS, or similar)
* Experience building customer-facing applications using modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React)
* Experience working with large, complex datasets and real-time systems
* Experience with GenAI either professionally or with personal projects
* Strong product mindset with the ability to translate technical systems into user-facing features
* Comfortable working in fast-moving startup environments and collaborating with customers
