Electrical Engineer

Location: Can be based anywhere in the US (100% Travel)

We are looking for Electrical Engineers to join a client's Energy Storage group and provide electrical technical support across the whole construction project. You'd lead the electrical side from design through to build, working with contractors, suppliers and local utilities. You will be working on massive utility-scale renewable projects and you'd get the whole life cycle.

What you'll do

• Provide technical lead and support on the electrical scope of the project
• Design collection system layouts, weighing overhead vs underground, routing and junction box locations
• Review manufacturer data to define scope, including wiring, grounding, power factor, lightning protection and generator outputs
• Check construction matches the electrical design drawings, including prep meetings and QA/QC
• Manage electrical design and equipment procurement through submittals, transmittals and RFIs
• Brief subcontractors on scope during bidding and support them throughout the project
• Liaise with local utilities to secure grid interconnection
• Run loss calculations (100% output and annualised)
• Produce one-line diagrams for collection systems and substations, plus standard construction details

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Basic understanding of construction techniques and project management
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
• Intermediate Microsoft Office, project and web applications
• Strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving and leadership skills
• Detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple project tasks
• Current driver's license
• Ability to travel up to 100%

Nice to have: Working knowledge of NEC and NE safety codes
