Project Manager - Highways, Paving, Utilities

    The Role

A respected civil contractor with a strong regional presence is seeking a well-rounded Project Manager to lead the delivery of major infrastructure projects across the DFW Metroplex. This position is best suited for someone with broad technical expertise and a proven ability to manage jobs from pre-construction through final closeout.

Projects typically range from $5M to $50M, covering highway improvements, concrete paving, earthwork, and utility installations. You'll play a key role in overseeing timelines, budgets, team performance, and client relationships while being part of a business that values leadership, trust, and operational excellence.

    What's In It for You?

This is a prime opportunity to join a growing, well-established firm where your experience will be recognized, and your leadership will directly impact project success. You'll take ownership of high-profile work, lead diverse teams, and build meaningful partnerships with municipal and commercial clients.

In return, the company offers a market-aligned salary range, depending on experience, alongside performance incentives, strong leadership support, and long-term career potential.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Full Project Oversight: Manage the execution of multiple infrastructure projects from mobilization to completion, ensuring scope, quality, and safety are prioritized.

    • Financial Performance: Oversee all fiscal aspects including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and final project profitability.

    • Team & Field Leadership: Guide field supervisors, subcontractors, and project engineers while promoting a proactive and safety-focused culture.

    • Resource Planning: Coordinate labor, materials, and heavy equipment to meet demanding project schedules.

    • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the go-to contact for public agencies, general contractors, and clients, managing communications and expectations with professionalism.

    • Process & Performance Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and apply best practices across all aspects of delivery.

    What You'll Bring

    • 5 years of experience managing civil projects in the $5M-$50M range, ideally with a mix of highways, earthworks, paving, and underground utility scopes.

    • Solid working knowledge of TxDOT standards, site development requirements, and local municipal processes.

    • Ability to lead multidisciplinary field teams and manage subcontractor relationships.

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.

    • Strong organizational, financial, and communication skills with a solutions-oriented mindset.

    • Proficiency with industry-standard software tools for project controls, scheduling, and cost management.

    Desirable Traits

    • Adaptable, collaborative leadership style.

    • Ability to pivot across job scopes and manage competing deadlines.

    • Confident managing both technical execution and client-facing responsibilities.
