A leading chemical manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced SHE / Process Safety Manager to support and strengthen safety, environmental, and process safety performance at a high-hazard manufacturing site. This role will partner closely with site leadership and corporate SHE teams to drive safety culture, implement best-in-class standards, and ensure compliance across process safety, operational safety, and environmental management systems.
This is a highly visible leadership position with the opportunity to make a measurable impact in a reaction-based chemical manufacturing environment.
Lead and support continuous improvement of process safety, occupational safety, and environmental performance at the site.
Drive implementation of corporate SHE standards and strengthen site-level safety culture.
Provide technical leadership for process hazard analysis (PHA), HAZOP, and risk assessments for reaction-based operations.
Evaluate and mitigate process, occupational, and environmental hazards, ensuring effective control measures are implemented.
Support development and execution of process safety and environmental management systems.
Conduct audits, inspections, and performance reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Serve as a technical resource to site leadership and operational teams on SHE-related matters.
Develop and deliver training for site personnel related to process safety and environmental compliance.
Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Support cross-site collaboration and SHE best practice sharing across the organization.
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required; advanced degree in process safety or related discipline preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in process safety within a chemical manufacturing environment involving high-hazard operations.
Leadership experience supporting site or regional SHE initiatives.
Experience leading HAZOP / PHA studies strongly preferred.
Background in reaction chemistry and process hazard mitigation (not logistics or material handling).
Experience supporting or developing Environmental and Safety Management Systems.
Knowledge of U.S. regulatory requirements related to process safety and environmental compliance.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence site leadership and operations teams.
