Survey Crew Chief - Tampa - Up to $100k

A well-established surveying and engineering firm in the Tampa Bay area is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations across a variety of land surveying projects. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a small field crew and delivering accurate, high-quality survey work across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and manage a field crew of 1-3 survey technicians

• Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, utility, and construction layout surveys

• Operate and instruct team members on survey equipment and field procedures

• Ensure accuracy of measurements, field notes, sketches, and data collection

• Read and interpret survey plans and construction drawings

• Establish vertical and horizontal control, monuments, corners, and property lines

• Enforce jobsite health & safety standards

• Coordinate daily field activities to meet project schedules and deadlines

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) or 3+ years of relevant field experience

• Strong experience in boundary, topographic, control, and construction layout surveying

• Advanced proficiency with GPS equipment, data collectors, total stations, and levels

• Working knowledge of Florida Surveying & Mapping standards

• Proven leadership ability with a willingness to mentor junior staff

• Valid Florida driver's license

• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and working in varied outdoor conditions

• Willingness to work overtime as needed
