Head of PMO - Hybrid - Doncaster - £100,000 DOE plus 30% Bonus and £6k Car Allowance

The Role

An exciting and fast-growing organisation is looking for a Head of PMO to lead and evolve its Project Management Office.

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on establishing best-in-class governance, overseeing a complex portfolio of programmes and projects, and ensuring delivery aligns with strategic business objectives. You'll take ownership of PMO maturity, delivery standards, and portfolio performance across the organisation.

Operating at a senior level with four direct reports, you'll work closely with Executive leadership, Product, Technology, and Business functions to ensure delivery is commercially focused, transparent, and outcome-driven.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a leadership capacity, enjoys building and scaling PMO functions, and can influence at board level while driving delivery excellence across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement the PMO vision, strategy, and operating model
• Own and oversee the full project and programme portfolio, ensuring alignment to business strategy
• Establish and embed governance frameworks, methodologies, and delivery standards
• Provide portfolio-level visibility, reporting, and insights to executive and board stakeholders
• Drive prioritisation of initiatives based on value, risk, and resource capacity
• Oversee resource planning, budgeting, and financial tracking across the portfolio
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing PMO team including Programme Managers and PMs
• Ensure robust risk, issue, and dependency management (RAID) across all initiatives
• Champion continuous improvement and PMO maturity across tools, processes, and ways of working
• Collaborate closely with Product and Technology leadership to align delivery with business goals
• Drive accountability for delivery outcomes, benefits realisation, and ROI
• Support organisational change, business readiness, and adoption across major initiatives

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a PMO or portfolio function in a complex organisation
• Strong track record of delivering large-scale programmes and strategic initiatives
• Experience operating at senior leadership or executive stakeholder level
• Strong commercial and financial awareness (budgets, forecasting, ROI)
• Experience establishing governance frameworks and delivery standards
• Hands-on experience delivering or overseeing ERP implementations and transformations
• Experience working with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and SAP S/4HANA
• Strong background within Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or operationally complex environments
• Ability to manage large, cross-functional delivery teams and portfolios
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments

Desirable Skills

• Experience scaling or transforming a PMO function
• Experience with portfolio management tools and reporting frameworks
• Strong understanding of change management and business readiness
• Experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments

The salary for this role is £100,000 DOE plus a 30% bonus and £6k Car allowance.
