Head of Sales

Location: Warwickshire | Hybrid
Salary: £70,000-£85,000+ DOE + bonus

We're working with an established and growing technology and specialist services business operating across the UK and internationally.

The business works with a range of high-profile organisations across the public and private sectors, providing specialist technology, data, cyber security, investigative and consultancy services.

They're now looking for an experienced Head of Sales to lead the commercial function and play a key role in the next stage of the company's growth.

The Role

As Head of Sales, you'll take ownership of the sales strategy and lead a team of sales and business development professionals, driving new business while continuing to grow and develop existing client relationships.

This is a senior, hands-on commercial role where you'll be expected to provide strategic direction while remaining close enough to the sales process to influence major opportunities and key accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the overall sales strategy and revenue growth plan.

  • Lead, develop and motivate the existing sales and business development team.

  • Drive new business across both public and private-sector markets.

  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with key clients and strategic accounts.

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and introduce additional services.

  • Build and manage a strong, predictable sales pipeline.

  • Take ownership of forecasting, sales performance, conversion and commercial reporting.

  • Identify new markets, sectors, partnerships and routes to market.

  • Lead complex, consultative sales processes involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Work closely with technical and operational teams to develop compelling client propositions.

  • Support major tenders, bids and procurement processes.

  • Work closely with Marketing to develop go-to-market strategies and commercial campaigns.

  • Introduce and continually improve sales processes, structures and KPIs.

  • Represent the business at relevant industry events and within key professional networks.

  • Work closely with the senior leadership team on wider commercial strategy and growth plans.

About You

We're looking for an experienced sales leader who has a proven track record of building revenue and developing high-performing commercial teams.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience leading a B2B sales or business development function.

  • A strong track record of delivering new business and revenue growth.

  • Experience managing, coaching and developing sales professionals.

  • Experience selling complex, consultative services or technical solutions.

  • Strong commercial and strategic thinking, combined with a hands-on approach.

  • Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships and complex buying processes.

  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting and commercial reporting experience.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Experience working with public sector, regulated, legal, technology or other complex organisations would be highly beneficial.

Desirable Backgrounds

Experience within one or more of the following environments would be particularly relevant:

  • Cyber security

  • Technology services

  • Digital forensics

  • Data / intelligence

  • Investigations

  • eDiscovery

  • Professional services

  • Technical consultancy

  • Government technology

  • Defence / national security

  • Risk, compliance or specialist consultancy

The successful candidate doesn't necessarily need direct experience in the company's specific niche. What's important is the ability to sell complex, specialist propositions, navigate long and sophisticated sales cycles, build senior relationships and lead a commercial team.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join an established specialist business with a strong reputation in its market and an ambitious growth strategy.

You'll have genuine ownership of the commercial function, working closely with the senior leadership team and helping shape the next phase of the organisation's growth.
