Oscar is working with a leading B2B provider of cash solutions organization that is looking for an Infrastructure, Operations & Network Director to join their team.
The Infrastructure, Operations & Network Director will be responsible for leading the company's global IT infrastructure, operations, and network services. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the organisation's on-premises and cloud infrastructure, enterprise networking, identity and collaboration platforms, technical architecture, and core operational service.
Key Responsbilities:
- Lead the design, operation, availability, and optimisation of enterprise infrastructure, including data centres, compute, storage, and virtualisation platforms (VMware, Nutanix and Hyper-V).
- Manage Microsoft Azure cloud services across multiple subscriptions, including Azure SQL, ensuring effective governance, security, resilience, and cost optimisation.
- Own enterprise identity, access, and collaboration platforms, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365, driving consolidation and modernisation initiatives where appropriate.
- Lead the global network and communications estate, including SD-WAN, FortiGate, Meraki, Cisco ISE, Microsoft Teams Phone, perimeter security, and SASE technologies across all business locations.
- Oversee the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Software Asset Management (SAM), hardware lifecycle planning, technology refresh programmes, and vendor management.
- Manage the infrastructure and operations budget, vendor contracts, licensing, and supplier performance in partnership with Finance and Procurement.
- Lead the delivery of complex infrastructure programmes, including cloud migrations, infrastructure transformations, acquisitions, divestitures, and technology integrations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years experience in IT Infrastructure and Operations, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within complex, multi-site international organisations.
- Extensive technical expertise across:
- Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Windows Server, VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper-V
- Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
- Enterprise networking, including SD-WAN, firewalls, network access control (NAC), and secure connectivity
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise backup, disaster recovery, CMDB, Software Asset Management, and IT vendor relationships.
- Proven track record delivering complex infrastructure transformation programmes, cloud migrations, mergers and acquisitions, or business separations.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, financial planning, and supplier management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and strategic planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Azure, ITIL, Cisco (CCNP/CCIE), Fortinet (NSE), VMware, or equivalent.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or SaaS organisations.
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other multi-cloud environments.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and modern infrastructure management practices.
