    The Role

    A nationally respected infrastructure and energy services firm is on the lookout for an experienced Energy Estimating Manager to join their Houston-based operations. This company has delivered over three decades of successful capital project execution, ranging from utility-scale solar farms to natural gas facilities and grid modernization initiatives.

    As the Estimating Manager, you'll lead the bid development process for multi-million-dollar energy infrastructure projects across Texas and the Gulf Coast region. You will oversee a team of estimators and collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure proposals are competitive, accurate, and aligned with project goals.

    Your Day-to-Day

    • Lead the preparation and delivery of detailed cost estimates for energy construction projects (solar, thermal, T&D, and LNG)

    • Review and analyze RFPs, drawings, and project documentation to develop complete bid proposals

    • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and scheduling teams to gather accurate data and input for estimates

    • Present cost strategies and risk assessments to executive leadership and clients

    • Develop and refine estimating templates, benchmarking data, and best practices for continual improvement

    • Mentor and supervise a team of junior estimators, supporting their development and technical growth

    • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure alignment with project goals and scope

    • Track market trends in material and labor costs to inform strategic pricing decisions

    Ideal Background

    • 8 years of cost estimating experience, preferably in energy, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure

    • Deep familiarity with estimating tools such as InEight, Sage Estimating, or Hard Dollar

    • Strong working knowledge of construction sequencing, means & methods, and pricing structures

    • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)

    Bonus Points If You Have:

    • Experience with EPC project delivery

    • Knowledge of FERC, NERC, or other energy regulatory environments

    • AACE or PMP certification
