About the Role

I'm hiring a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to lead complex capital projects across multiple manufacturing sites in the Americas. This role is ideal for an experienced chemical process engineer who thrives in a high‑hazard, fast‑paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of major engineering initiatives from concept through commissioning.

You will play a critical role in shaping long‑term capital strategy, enhancing engineering governance, and driving operational excellence across a diverse project portfolio. This position interacts extensively with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams, providing both hands‑on engineering expertise and strategic direction.

What You'll Do

Capital Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and maintain a 3-5‑year capital investment roadmap that aligns with business priorities.
  • Challenge scopes and apply value engineering principles to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
  • Implement robust governance to ensure compliance with OSHA, corporate policies, and global engineering standards.
  • Establish and manage framework agreements with engineering services partners.

Project Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of project engineers and manage external engineering firms and contractors.
  • Provide full portfolio visibility, including reporting on cost, schedule, risk, and quality.
  • Manage both planned and emergent projects without compromising strategic priorities.
  • Oversee detailed engineering activities such as scope development, cost estimation, and project planning.

Technical & Operational Support

  • Ensure high‑quality design and safe commissioning through Hazops, safety assessments, and compliance processes.
  • Support site engineering teams with troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
  • Contribute to plant safety systems, including the development and maintenance of operating procedures and engineering documentation.

  • A clear, approved capital roadmap with short‑ and long‑term visibility.
  • Projects completed on time, on budget, and meeting all safety and quality requirements.
  • Demonstrated cost savings through scope challenge and engineering innovation.
  • Strong governance with zero major compliance issues.
  • High confidence from senior leadership in the project portfolio and decision-making.
  • Improved predictability, efficiency, and execution across all engineering projects.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering; Chartered Engineer status (or actively pursuing) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in chemical plant process engineering, both on the plant floor and in an office environment.
  • Background in fine or specialty chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience working with high‑hazard operations and strong knowledge of global safety and environmental regulations.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and commissioning manufacturing assets.
  • Practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to execute work directly as well as through others.
  • Strong technical problem‑solving skills and an efficient, "can‑do" mindset.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and influencing at multiple levels.
