Senior Estimator / Preconstruction Manager
Location:
North Texas / DFW Area
Project Type: Commercial Construction (including, not limited to, healthcare, education, municipal, data centers)

We are seeking a Senior Estimator or Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction efforts for a growing commercial construction team in the DFW region. This role focuses primarily on negotiated work with some hard bid opportunities and will support projects across multiple commercial market sectors. The ideal candidate brings strong estimating experience, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, owners, and design partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead preconstruction efforts from conceptual budgeting through final estimate and proposal.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and pricing strategies.

  • Manage subcontractor outreach, scope leveling, and bid evaluations.

  • Participate in value engineering, constructability reviews, and design-phase cost guidance.

  • Coordinate closely with operations teams to ensure smooth transition from preconstruction to construction.

  • Support negotiated pursuits and assist with hard bid opportunities when required.

  • Present estimate summaries, assumptions, and cost drivers to internal leadership.

  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, subcontractor availability, and material pricing.

Qualifications:

  • Senior-level estimating or preconstruction experience within commercial construction.

  • Experience leading estimates across multiple project types.

  • Exposure to both negotiated and hard bid environments preferred.

  • Strong understanding of construction costs, subcontractor scopes, and project budgeting.

  • Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal teams and external partners.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional jobsite visits as needed.

  • Ability to review plans, specifications, and construction documents for extended periods.
