Senior Back End Developer Leeds | Hybrid | £55,000 - £65,000 DOE

We're working with a growing organisation looking to hire a Senior Back End Developer to play a key role in the ongoing development of their platform and business systems.

This is a hands-on position offering real ownership, where you'll lead backend development, contribute to technical direction, and work closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver new features and improvements. You'll be instrumental in evolving a bespoke API and supporting a platform used at scale.

The Role:

• Lead backend development and take ownership of API architecture
• Build, maintain, and improve scalable web applications and systems
• Develop new API endpoints and enhance existing functionality
• Collaborate with frontend developers, stakeholders, and wider teams
• Mentor junior developers and support best practices across the team
• Identify and reduce technical debt, improving performance and reliability

• PHP

About You

• Strong experience with PHP and MySQL
• Background working on complex web applications or business systems
• Experience building or maintaining APIs
• Comfortable working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Mentoring or leadership experience is beneficial
• Strong focus on clean architecture, performance, and best practices
