Data Center Network Engineer

Senior Data Centre Network Engineer | 6-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid (Manchester or London)

We're working with a leading enterprise organisation on a large-scale data centre transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Senior Data Centre Network Engineer to support the decommissioning and migration of critical network infrastructure.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be responsible for planning, migrating and retiring legacy network environments while ensuring minimal disruption to business-critical services.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver end-to-end data centre decommissioning and network migration projects.

• Audit, migrate and retire enterprise network infrastructure.

• Develop traffic migration plans and validate network services following implementation.

• Work within structured change management processes and collaborate with multiple infrastructure teams.

• Produce and maintain network documentation and topology diagrams.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years' experience in enterprise or data centre networking.

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst and ASR platforms.

• Excellent knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, STP, vPC and EVPN/VXLAN.

• Experience delivering brownfield migrations, infrastructure consolidations or data centre decommissioning projects.

• Familiarity with automation tools such as Python or Ansible is desirable.

• Experience with Juniper, Cisco ACI or F5 would be advantageous.
