Senior Product Manager
Location: London
Salary: £100,000
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: On-site, based in a central London office
A senior product seat with genuine ownership at an AI work-execution platform built for the alternative investment sector. You will lead a dedicated capability area within the workflow management programme - owning strategy, roadmap and delivery from discovery through to release. The team is small, senior and high-ownership, with direct access to the Executive Committee and close contact with the investment professionals who use the product.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Product Management, you will be the product lead for a dedicated capability area of the workflow management programme, owning its strategy and roadmap as well as its delivery.
* Work daily with the engineers and designers building the capability
* Stay close to the investment professionals who use it
* Partner with the commercial team taking it to market
* Set the direction for your area, not just the sprint
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
* Own the product strategy and roadmap for your capability area: where it is going, what it will and will not do, and why
* Define and defend prioritisation with evidence, maintaining a tagged, traceable backlog that engineering trusts
* Contribute your area's view to the wider workflow management programme roadmap alongside the Head of Product Management
* Break complex capability areas into actionable requirements at the right level of granularity - epics, features and user stories - refining them continuously with design and engineering
* Run agile delivery properly: backlog refinement, sprint planning, acceptance criteria that hold, and release governance
* Work in-loop with London engineers and the India-based delivery organisation through build, test and release
* Own product decisions across APIs, integrations and machine-delivery services - how data reaches the platform, how clients connect to it, and what a good integration experience looks like
* Define what good looks like for LLM-powered features: golden examples, evaluation criteria and regression expectations, set with the engineering team
* Design for non-deterministic systems: managing hallucination risk, setting output-quality expectations and deciding what a user must be able to verify
* Balance capability, latency and token cost deliberately - the platform's economics are a product surface
* Run structured discovery with investment-domain users, validate what you are building and maintain a clear view of how competitors solve the same problems
* Support go-to-market with the commercial, marketing and operations teams: positioning input, release notes and internal enablement
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* 6-9 years in a dedicated Product Manager role (not adjacent business-analysis or product-analyst time)
* Evidence of owning the roadmap for a dedicated product area end to end, in a B2B or enterprise context
* Product management experience in financial services; asset management or private markets is a distinct advantage
* Complete comfort breaking complex capability areas into epics, features and user stories, and refining them with design and engineering
* Experience of agile product management
* Confidence with APIs and related integration and machine-delivery services
* Working fluency with modern AI product concepts: RAG, agents, evaluation, and prompt/structured-output patterns
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, finance or a related field, or equivalent experience
NICE TO HAVE
* Experience leading or mentoring product managers - mentoring more junior PMs is likely to become a larger part of this role over time
* An agile certification
* Go-to-market experience working with commercial, marketing and operations teams
* Exposure to multi-tenant enterprise platforms and permissioned data
BENEFITS
* Competitive compensation
* Close working relationship with an Executive Committee with over 20 years' experience leading a business serving hundreds of major clients in the alternative investment space
* The chance to build something impactful for established, leading financial services businesses
* An innovative, supportive and collaborative working environment
* Central London office
