Project Manager - Wet Utilities

Location: DFW Metroplex
Compensation: $130,000 - $180,000 + Benefits

The Role

A well-established civil contractor in the DFW market is seeking a Wet Utility Project Manager to support a strong and growing pipeline of residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects.

This team operates under a true self-perform model, and hands-on wet utility knowledge is required. The ideal candidate understands how water, sanitary sewer, and storm systems are sequenced and installed in the field and can manage projects from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining control of schedule, cost, and production.

Project Focus

  • Residential subdivisions and master-planned communities

  • Commercial site development

  • Select municipal and public infrastructure work

  • Self-performed wet utility scopes including water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and related underground systems

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple wet utility projects concurrently from award through completion

  • Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and cost controls

  • Work closely with superintendents and field teams to manage sequencing and productivity

  • Coordinate procurement, subcontractors, inspections, and material deliveries

  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications

  • Monitor job cost reporting and ensure financial performance aligns with projections

  • Interface with engineers, municipalities, and ownership representatives

Required Background

  • 5-10 years of experience in civil construction, with a strong focus on wet utilities

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager managing underground utility scopes

  • Solid understanding of self-performed water, sewer, and storm systems

  • Experience across residential and commercial site development; public work exposure is beneficial

  • Working knowledge of municipal specifications and inspection processes

  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining schedule and budget control
