Job Title: Civil / Structural Engineer (Industrial Manufacturing Environment)

A leading industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a Civil / Structural Engineer to support plant operations, maintenance, and capital projects. This role is responsible for providing civil and structural engineering design services in an active industrial facility. The position works closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure structural systems are designed, maintained, and improved in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
This is a hands-on role within an operating plant environment, requiring both office-based design work and field-based assessments.
Perform structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures, including foundations, pipe supports, platforms, lifting devices, buildings, roadways, and drainage systems.
Prepare engineering calculations in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards.
Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings, fabrication packages, and construction documents.
Interpret pipe stress and flexibility analysis reports to properly design supports and restraints.
Conduct field surveys, including laser scanning and point cloud registration as needed.
Provide technical guidance to plant personnel regarding structural design, fabrication, and construction requirements.
Participate in design reviews, incident investigations, and implementation of corrective actions.
Develop and maintain engineering specifications for structural components such as platforms, ladders, fall protection systems, and pipe supports.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance with safety regulations, internal standards, and project schedules.
Identify and implement improvements to engineering standards and plant safety initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
Professional Engineer license preferred (or ability to obtain).
Minimum five years of hands-on experience in an operating industrial plant environment.
Experience within oil, gas, chemical, or heavy industrial manufacturing preferred.
Strong working knowledge of structural design codes and standards.
Experience performing structural analysis and preparing design calculations.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (such as RISA or similar).
Experience with AutoCAD required; 3D design software experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in industrial environments, including climbing ladders, working at heights, and entering confined spaces.
Must be eligible to obtain required site credentials and pass applicable screening requirements.
