Project Manager (Utility-Scale Solar) - Full Travel
We are actively hiring 8-12 Project Managers (PM I & PM II) to support a growing pipeline of utility-scale solar projects across the U.S. This is a full travel role with a structured rotation and strong long-term growth potential within a leading self-performing contractor.
Location & Travel
- Full travel role across U.S. project sites (CA, TX, AZ, MN, OK, CO, Midwest)
- Rotation: 3 weeks on-site / 5 days off (approx. 52 days off annually)
- Travel schedule is structured and consistent, with flexibility for major life events
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee utility-scale solar construction projects from early execution through completion
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and financial performance
- Lead planning efforts, including 2-6 week lookaheads to keep projects on track
- Handle core PM responsibilities:
- RFIs
- Project controls
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Timecard oversight
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams
- Mentor and support APMs and junior PMs, helping develop future leaders on the team
Must-Have Qualifications
- 7-8+ years of construction management or project leadership experience
- Proven experience working for a self-performing contractor (not Owner's Rep or Developer)
- Prior experience in a full travel role (ideally 3+ years)
- Strong understanding of:
- Scheduling & planning
- Budgeting & financials
- Project controls
- Experience managing field execution + people leadership
- Ability to work on a fixed travel rotation
- Strong leadership style:

- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background/drug screening
Preferred Experience
- Utility-scale solar (self-perform) experience strongly preferred
- Target backgrounds: Cupertino, Rosendin, Blattner, SOLV Energy, McCarthy, Kiewit
- Experience in wind or heavy electrical (T&D / power delivery) is also relevant
- Experience managing union and non-union labor
- Open to or interested in California-based projects (not required, but a plus)
